About

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Kate Newton and I’m a BANT Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and a naturopath based in Gloucestershire and Somerset.

I’ve always been interested in food and how it can affect your health, even from a young age when I spent time with my grandma preparing nutritious fare for the dinner table. However, not realising that this was actually something you could study, I went to university, got my degree and ended up working for a large software company.

By the time I was beginning my thirties, the stress and strain of working for corporate was beginning to show on my health. I started to investigate how I could support my health, especially with food (thank you internet!) and soon realised that there was a wealth of information out there – this rekindled my passion, but I also realised there was a lot of conflicting information out there! How Would I be able to tell which information was relevant and correct and which was mere speculation?

Then one day I was at a food fair and I came across a stall for the College of Naturopathic Medicine. I signed up that afternoon and began 4 and a half years of study to qualify as a Naturopath and a Nutritionist.

Now I share the knowledge I learned, educating people on how they can make changes to their lifestyles in order to improve their health. And it's not just about eating kale!

I am registered with The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (or BANT) which is the professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners. Its primary function is to assist its members in attaining the highest standards. I am also a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
